Converting from Direct Dial modem to ADSL via LAN

Hi,

I have a small home/office network of Windows 2000, 95 and XP machines, running on a Linux server (5 machines in total).

Till now all internet and mail has gone via the Linux server (using the linux box as the gateway).

I have recently purchased an ADSL modem, which is now plugged directly into the network hub, with it's own IP address (in the same range as the rest in our network).

I have managed to get the Windows machines to browse via the ADSL modem, but I can't get the Linux box to "see" this new modem, via the network.

Doen anyone know where I can find the information on how to set this up? I have tried changing the paps and chaps file, and the default gateway, and the resolve.conf file, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere.

Any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks!

If you modem is plugged directly into the hub then you don't need to sorry about PAP/CHAT etc as all this is handled by your ADSL<->Ethernet router, you just need to change you default gateway on the linux box to be the router.

What distro are you using?

cheers

Jamie...

PS - Welcome to LinuxQuestions by the way
