Connman borked my Network

I'm using Enlightenment on my laptop but was finding that I couldn't get the nm-applet to work on it.

So I found this which suggests installing an applet called Connman and gave instructions on how to do so.

The problem is that I can't get the Connman app to run and it also seems to have disabled my wifi.

So when (following the instructions to reinstall network-manager) I type sudo apt-get install network-manager-gnome network-manager I get "E: Unable to fetch some archives..."

Trying to start the wireless manually with ifconfig doesn't work as "Operation not possible due to RF-kill".

Running rfkill list all shows me that 4 items, Wireless LAN, Bluetooth, Bluetooth hcio and Wireless LAN phy0 are listed as "Soft blocked: yes" and "Hard blocked: no".

rfkill unblock all, rfkill unblock wifi, and rfkill unblock 0 all run without error but do not unblock anything.

Well, it seems to be fixed.

If I knew what I'd done to fix it, I'd put [solved] in the title. I'll probably do that anyway, although I'm not sure that anyone with a similar problem would get a solution. But it might save a guru or two from racking their brains.

There was a file called /var/lib/connman/settings which may have reset the rfkill locks on reboot.

Anyway I managed to run rfkill unblock all, rebooted and it worked!

More often than not a simple reboot will reset everything, from what you have written it seems that was the case for you.

Except that I had tried to reboot several times.

Mind you, I thought I had uninstalled Connman, but it appeared that I hadn't.
