Connected to internet, but can't access pages through standard browser

Hello linuxquestions , I have switched to Linux (Antix 19.3) few months ago and I was very happy new Linux user since few days ago. Although I am new user I know that my problem is network related so I decided to post my question in networking sub-forum. Also I am not native English speaker so sorry for my bad English

Before my vacation I did some general junk cleaning. Nothing special - deleted some junk files and cleaned everything with bleachbit (as root and without privileges - which I already did few times before and without problems). After I turned on my laptop few days later and tried to access any page with Firefox (e.g. google.com), I couldn't do it and whatever page I tried to access it immediately turned "Something went wrong" error or something like that. First I checked my connection in connection manager (Connman which is default in Antix) and it said that I'm connected to my wireless. I tried to disconnect-connect and forget my connection anyway which didn't solve the problem. Second I tried to ping 8.8.8.8 and it worked perfectly which made me very curious so I tried to access internet with tor browser which worked perfectly as well. I also tried disabling my firewall which didn't change anything. Since I must dual boot with Windows for college purposes I went to try to access internet with internet explorer on windows and it worked as it should. Lastly, I tried tracerouting and pinging with IP address and it worked, but when I tried to do it by domain name it didn't work.

I was thinking it might be some problem with DNS or some more general problem with TCP/IP stack in my OS, but I have no idea where to start and what can I try to do. Do you have any idea what might be causing this problem and what can I try to solve it? I would be very thankful for any help

Also here is my inxi -Fxzd if it is of any help

As a first step, show the results of these two commands:
Code:
ls -als /etc/resolv.conf
and then
Code:
cat /etc/resolv.conf
With this we can see how your lookups are expected to work and (I hope) what is managing that.

If you have the host command installed, you might also try
Code:
host www.google.com 8.8.8.8
and see if that returns a reasonable result.

If I understand your second paragraph, everything you've tried so far has worked, the only issue is with Firefox on Linux?

That's not a networking problem, it's a Firefox problem. (And perhaps a bleachbit bug; I'm not familiar with that software, but unless you mistakenly told it to delete something Firefox-related, it shouldn't be doing so.)

Two things you could try doing:
* Backup your Firefox profile and try creating a fresh one.
* Re-install Firefox. (Perhaps with an uninstall/purge.)

Another test you might do is create a new user (you will have to do this as root), log in as the new user, and test your Firefox. If everything works for new user, that would indicate that something has gone wrong in your regular user's hidden dot-config files in regular user's /home directory.

The solution is posted at the antiX forum. Choose option 1.
