i have read many posts here about not connecting to the internet but i still don't know whats wrong.

I have redhat 8 installed.
I can ping other pcs and macs on the network but they can't ping me.
I can ping the pc running Coyote which serves out the internet but i can't connect to the internet.

Though the network did run on dhcp, once i installed Coyote most of the computers needed a fixed ip address, this pc failed with dhcp but can ping the others with a fixed address.

if i type route -n:

You need to add the DNS data into the /etc/resolv.conf file like:
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

i have now tried my /etc/resolv.conf file with various numbers:
Coyotes Primary NAmeserver and Windows DNS server number 62.31.64.39.
The local ip Address of Coyote 192.168.0.0 and .0.1, the Broadcast address 192.168.0.255, the Coyote GAteway address 82.41.48.1.

I have restarted each time but it stil doesn't work.

the files reads:
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
search localdomain

i don't really know what the file should say ( and i have looked at others) and what number i should use as every type of computer seems to call these things something different.
