connect 2 Linux boxes via crossover cable

Hey,

Alright, I'm a noob when it comes to linux and dont know exactly what to configure, or where to configure stuff to solve my problem.

I have two xboxes running Getnoox distro and wish to transfer file between them via crossover cable.

At present one boxes IP is 192.168.0.4, while the others is 192.168.0.5. They are connected with the crossover calbe but they can't ping each other. Any answers as to what else I must configure would be appreciated.

thanks,

Forbs.

Do XBoxes have link lights to indicate a physical connection?
What does /sbin/route say on each Xbox?
