Not knowing Fedora personally, I don't know, but I don't see why you couldn't get it to work, just might need to compile a few apps
i built the openmosix cluster using redhat9 os.i've 11 slave nodes and a master.
1-->anybody who knows about NFS configuration.
2-->how to make MPI programming works in this cluster.
-->i used openmosix kernel
-->Mesa-glut as monitoring tools

I have built a cluster before using OpenMosix and Fedora Core 1. This is very easy to do as you just have to install the RPMs. As far as doing it on other distros (or newer versions of Fedora / Red Hat), this is a much more difficult thing to do. Further complicating this is the fact that the latest stable openmosix kernel is for a 2.4.26 Linux kernel, making it years out of date. Since Fedora Core 1 is so old, it is very difficult to get newer software to run on the cluster and after all, the point of the cluster is to run the software you need so it makes it basically useless.
----------
Proposed Solution to this
----------
I am currently beginning to try to take a recent Ubuntu version (or maybe Debian, but I will try Ubuntu first) and install all of the software I need onto this installation.
- Then I will start with a fresh installation of Fedora Core 1 (with the OpenMosix kernel compiled onto it)
- Then I will copy the /usr /lib and any other necessary folders from the Ubuntu machine onto the Fedora Core 1 machine, I will mount them appropriately (in place of the original directories on the machine) and hope that I will then be able to run the software from the Ubuntu machine on the Fedora 1 cluster.
--------------
Please, if you have any ideas on this or suggestions I would greatly appreciate input. I really want a working OpenMosix cluster and I am hoping there is some potential in doing this, it seems that everyone who I've seen posting about clustering is running into issues with Linux (at least for distributed process clusters which can run normal software.. a beowulf type cluster is not of use to most people since you have to write custom software for it)
