Cisco 1721 and DSL setup

I have a Cisco 1721 router and I need to connect this to a verizon Business DSL modem. I tried for hours to connect it and configure it from the yellow 10/100 ethernet port on the back to the WAN port on the WESTEL DSL modem from VERIZON. There is a 4 port wic 4esw card on the left slot and I have tried to get it work but I think that I dont have the right card. Do I need a ASDL wic card for this router? What am I doing wrong? help!

This is the WIC card that is in the router
