I need help on this too. I have the same problem, Mandriva LE 2005 + Realtek RTL8139/810x family NIC = no internet connection. Windows XP never has any problems with it (I'm using it on a dual boot right now) and Suse Enterprise Server 9 didn't have any problem with it, nor does Mepis. Mandiva recognizes the NIC OK but no manner of setup connects.

OK, I solved it for my configuration. I went back to the install and it gave me an option which specifically suggested running a network config command (I forget the exact command). I ran it and set it up for a LAN and it worked when fully undated and rebooted.
