Cant Access Samba Server

Hye guys i have to linux box ubuntu and centos. I enabled samba on ubuntu and i tried to access using my XP computer and ask for a username password but in my centos same setup i enabled samba and tried to access it using my XP computer but it showed up a access denied error. what could be the possible cause of this problem?

This may be a really stupid question, but have you created any shares that you can access on the windows machine? Are the permissions set up correctly?

I am afraid I can't really help you more than that, but the really obvious is often a good place to start.

yes i just configured it. i set a shared folder in my desktop with 777 permission and edit my smb.conf. i also added a samba user with username and password just like my windows and both are in the same workgroup name. but still it says access denied... is this a problem with the samba configuration or does the linux box blocks the connection.
