Cannot See Linux Box after Suse OpenExchange Install
This is very, very frustrating....I just installed Suese's New OpenExchange 4.1 and the whole install went pretty smooth (for a new Linux user). Anyway one frustrating problem is I cannot see this Linux box on my local LAN. I cannot ping its static address (192.168.1.2) from any of the Windows machines or the Linksys router. All IP's are on the same subnet. Servers are 192.168.1.1-9 and clients are 192.168.1.10-100. All are statically assigned and DHCP has been disabled on the router. The default gatway has been assigned 192.168.1.1 (the router IP). The Windows machines all work fine and can browse and ping each other until the cow's come home. I have verified the cables are good by changing to a brand new cable and even tried a new NIC card but I still cannot see the Linux machine (ping) from any of the windows machines nor from the router
Curiously if I open Mozilla and try to browse yahoo.com....the message at the bottom of the browser says 'resolving yahoo.com' and the site SOMETIMES slowly, slowly comes up (minus some graphics) but I still cannot PING from any of the windows machines
I'm at a loss of what to check anymore. I'm relatively new to Linux so advice will have to be in relatively simple terms (please). Your thoughts would be sincerely appreciated

John Kostenbader
P.S. I did have Red Hat 8.0 on this machine prior to this installation and could see the box without any problem
