I have Cable Broadband internet, a router and two computers plugged in to this "network". One of which is this Red Hat 9.0. I'm such a at this, so bear with me. It says to check my cable. but the cable is connected, and if I put windoze on the machine, it connects to the internet just fine. I dont get it. Any suggestions, or ideas?

What kind of network card are you using? Is it detected ok:
lsmod
dmesg | grep -i eth
lspci | grep -i eth
