Can SAMBA use NIS authentication

I have a need to do some printer accounting, so I set up a SAMBA domain, but I also need to use NIS to authenticate users since I don't want to sit in front of the comp and add a 100 users, not to mention, give them new passwords. So is this possible?

Thanks in advance!
