Question Can I use message queues [e.g. msgrecv(), msgsend()] between remote hosts?

I want to set up a persistent, store-and-forward data channel between processes running on different boxes.

I am tempted to use message queues, but AFAICS they are only for different processes on the same machine. True? If not, how do I address a queue on a remote machine?
