I've been having issues with my cable modem for the better part of a week now..my isp's tech support so far have found no problems with my connection either at the office or by coming to my residence and checking the modem signals. But still I have problems with my internet timing out trying to contact the dns servers.
I get 100% packet loss trying to ping these, I'm able to browse and open webpages at the moment but i suspect tht won't be for long as it has been. I've partially followed Jeffrey Dentons hardening slackware tutorial and added to hosts.conf
nospoof on and
spoofalert on
But I wouldn't think this would have to do with the problems I'm having.
If any further info is needed let me know..
