Cahnge MAC address back ?

Hello,

Using debian lenny.
I needed to change MAC(realtek nic) so I changed it by adding
Code:
hwaddress ether 0A:1A:7D:04:CA:BA
into /etc/network/interfaces.
I don't need it anymore so I deleted that line and rebooted the system. After reboot I still have my new 'fake' MAC.

How this is possible ?
How do I restore my original MAC ?

Once mac is changed i believe it stays in hardware. Check hardware labels for old mac.
