Beginner, join AD domain problem
Hi!
I've just started learning how to migrate to Linux and I am having a few problems connecting to my companies domain via Active Directory.
Firstly I have a SuSE 10.1 Enterprise server that I would like to connect as a member server. Not a DC.
If I log on as root on the local machine and use the windows domain mebership control. I can choose the domain, then log off and log in as Administrator on the domain. But when I restart I cannot log onto the domain again until I set the windows domain membership control.
Also when I try and log in as another user from the domain, I can get through the password stage but get 'unhandled exceptions' and errors saying 'gnome-panel attempted to change an aspect of your configuration that your system admin does not allow you to change'
I understand that this must be a permissions problem but I don't know how to change settings to allow domain users extended permissions.
