I have these iptables RPMs compiled with l7-filter patch on FC3, they may or may not work on FC2, I'm not sure.

Before you install them get rid of the stuff you installed in /usr/local, also even if the binary does work you still need to have kernel support.
Now you can stop bumping your thread
