This is the first time I have seen a Linux machine got Hung!
Furthermore, I did it!!
The machine was not accessible via network nor physically!
Ok, following are the proceedings:-
1) I wanted to use two nic s with different IP addresses to be bonded (Meant to be fault tollerent Internet Access)
2) Created a bonding in those two NICs after reading this thread
3) The distro was IPCop and NICs were called to be orange and red interface having different ip addresses.
4) Had forgot that the bonding works in the same network
5) Restarted the network via ssh.
6) Firewall stopped to respond via ssh
7) Tried to restart the network through console and that also got hung!!!
I think the reason is:- the kernel got confused about how to react with this kind of configuration. Besides showing an error message, it got hung!
Ok, the problem remains:_
How do I provide a fault tollerent Internet access?
I do have two broad band / adsl connections with different ISPs. Any idea?
Thanks in advance

I don't think there's anything weird getting Linux hung up. It works on the very same computers as Windows does, and Linux software is not perfect. I myself have encountered more and more program crashes (did they just not happen back in the days, was the world better, or am I just trying to golden my memories?) after every new piece of software (only the "good old" console programs seem to work as flawlessly as possible), and I've "been able" to hang a Linux system (multiple different distributions, multiple different kernel versions) many times already. Not as many times as a Windows of some kind, but still too many. And it's not even difficult, really. The sad thing is, I'm not that good of a programmer I could fix the errors, and I guess they're my own fault rather than a software fault.
Believe me, you've lived easy life if this was the first time you got to hang up a Linux system.
To your problem, I don't think it should be a difficult one to fix. On Windows I'm having both cable-internet and wireless internet, going through different devices to the providers, and they work hand by hand, if the other one goes down I still am able to browse the net. That's the same idea as yours, just a bit different layout (two cable connections). If Windows can do it, Linux should too..I hope you aren't looking for a too difficult answer?
Yes, I know its not much impossible to get it hung especially when in X. But I found this first time when in console. I have seen a lot of times it becomes inaccessible locally and works finely on network. This was the first time, I think that the machine got totally weird.
Anyroad, I do expect difficult anwers, how can I do that?
