Apache Webserver unavailable

Hi; I've installed LAMPP on my pc for Joomla development. For some reason I cannot access this web server from any of the other pc's in my network. I can ping both ways and open http://localhost/ on the "lampp" pc with no problem. But trying to open the "lampp" pc from another pc with http://ip_address/ doesn't work - page cannot be displayed.

Any ideas where to start looking for the issue? I'm thinking something with security, maybe SELinux?

I'm using Fedora 10 (updated to 11)- 2.6.30.8-64.fc11.i586
PHP 5.3
my_sql 5.137
Mozilla 5

Thanks

Hello,

With standard installation Apache only listens on the localhost loopback. If you want it to listen on other IPs you have to confgure that. You can read about binding Apache to IP here.

Apache configuration for this is done in httpd.conf.
For Apache2 it's done in the ports.conf file.

Kind regards,

Eric
