apache and apache2


can somebody clarify the main differences between apache and apache2? What are the major advantages/disadvantages of using one or the other?

I'd recommend having a look at the Apache sites in that post (http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/upgrading.html and http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/new_features_2_0.html) as they provide plenty of information.
