Unhappy Need madwifi driver(version) with ad-hoc and master mode support for 2.4.26 kernel

I am trying to configure my card(TP-Link WN550g -ar5212 chipset) in ad-hoc mode to set up a small mesh network luckily the card is getting detected but it is not supporting any modes other than managed(client). The chipset of this card is atheros(I AR5212).I am using Damn Small Linux-DSL (2.4.26 Kernel). Is there any alternative for getting my card to work in ad-hoc mode by using different some other version of madwifi --if anyone who already tried this -(compiling it externally with 2.4.26 kernel and inserting the modules in DSL). This method of inserting modules on runtime I tried with rt2500 it was working fine I thought doing the same for madwifi also..

I tried building madwifi 0.9.0/0.9.1/0.9.2 driver versions and also used modprobe to insert the modules still the driver is not supporting any other mode apart from managed mode but the interface is getting detected as ath0.

The same card is working fine with whax-livecd where it supports Master,Ad-hoc,Client,Monitor modes....I am confused why it is not happening with DSL??

I am struggling with this for the past two days!

Thanks!
