Accessing "Network Places" On Linux?

I was wondering if it is possible to access a shared network folder on an windows xp box from a linux box? I know with windows it is possible to share a folder over a network but then could i access that folder (or even computer) from linux? I am running Slackware 9 if it helps. Thanks in advance for any info and help
