I really do not understand the question the router

could care less what OS it is transferring packets with there is a manual set up that use any HTML browser. so if it came with a disk for windows you can also scan that disk for the manual set up. if you are hooking to big pond then what I read it uses adsl and that has been around in linux for ever. The router hooks to big pond but after that it is just a router you use to link your other computers to it.s gateway. Yes would be my answer

The HGN works fine on this PC with it's triple lnx O/Ss.
- also on a laptop with Mint7 on it via the wifi gateway
( & with a better connection than with the xp boot)

Edit: I don't get any better than 20% of the 7.2Mb though.

make sure that only you are using the router side of the link. if it is open some other people may be using it. pass phrase protect it and go into your router setup and look at the info and see how many computers. IP addresses it has link to it in use.
up stream will always be 20 percent but down stream should be faster.
test it.

I did - it's 20% alright ( ~ 150kb/s) - usually less.
