I have installed Slack 9.1 on a 486DX2-40 which has a sound card, modem, and 3 Com 3C509B NIC. All cards are ISA. The NIC is recognized by the system but can not ping any other IPs on the network except its own. Here is a portion of the
DMESG pertaining to the NIC:

eth0: Setting 3c5x9/3c5x9B half-duplex mode if_port: 0, sw_info: 8400
eth0: Setting Rx mode to 1 addresses.
Why do I have a listing for both eth0 and eth1?
Any ideas on how to get the NIC working properly?
Thanks!
