This pau09--is it a Panda USB device? A web search indicates that the Panda pau09 likely works with Linux.

I'd suggest you do a web search for "Ubuntu computer router," using the computer as a router is pretty much what you want to do. Setting it up as router rather than as a simple access point is likely more secure.

I found this article with the above search string: https://www.ascinc.com/blog/linux/ho...bionic-beaver/

The Panda WiFi adapter works fine with Ubuntu... I've since decided to build a basic infrastructure which includes a nano router and a Ethernet to USB dongle as well as the panda WiFi adapter to set up my laptops internet to be able to broadcast the laptops internet to the rest of the building since it appears that my laptop is the only patient laptop functioning anymore with this internet... I think it will be a lot easier than trying to set up Ubuntu as a server on my laptop.. could I do that in a virtual machine? I want to be able to browse the web and read my email and maybe play a few games from day to day... any other thoughts are welcome... thank you for your knowledge it is appreciated.
