[Debian Testing] Wireless failing.

Hi.

I recently changed my wireless adapter, a TP-LINK 951N. I think it uses ath9k driver, and I think is fully supported.

But my problem is, when I bought the old adapter, I had to mess up some things, so now I don't have a Network Manager GUI. I wrote my config in /etc/network/interfaces. I tried to do so with my new configuration, because I also had to change my subnet from 192.168.1.x to 192.168.0.x for other reasons.

Eventually, I connected my old adapter, and it doesn't work either. So... I guess it's something with the configuration, because I also have ath9k loaded and the other driver, and if I do a iwlist scan, it does scan wifi networks.

Maybe the solution could be to reinstall all network components, but I don't know how I managed to 'delete' even eth0 interface. I connect an ethernet cable to my computer, and it doesn't work! And I write 'ifconfig' and it doesn't show any eth0 or eth1 interfaces.

I also tried to reinstall Debian, but for some reason, it stucks in detecting network hardware (maybe a bad build?). I tried connecting with ethernet, with wifi, and removing wifi card and only with ethernet.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Update: During the installation, after a while it asks me for a install a non-free driver from a removable device. I download some drivers on .deb, but I don't want to continue installing, because I want to know if I can save my current installation.

Thanks again

Wifi problems

The first thing I would try is to revert to the old subnet and see if anything changed. It is always a good idea to make a backup of any file in /etc that you intend to change before you make changes, that way you can always step back.
