DD Random Android USB Storage??

So I'm thinking of selling my old galaxy player (galaxy phone without the phone) but I want to securely erase the data before I do...Does does anyone know if I can just dd /dev/random the USB storage?? I don't *think* any system data is stored there, but I don't want to brick it or something.

On Galaxy devices you can:

- delete /dev/* manually
- delete USB via rUSB php script

If you go to Settings > Storage you will see how much space you have got.
