[fedora-30] howto get pictures, videos, music from android device with broken screen
hi, i have an essential running lineage-os with a broken screen.
how does one copy data off of it to my laptop.
the fone vibrates when i touch the fingerprint reader and i see from my wifi router admin page that the fones i.p. is present. the charging lite l.e.d. comes on when plugged in via u.s.b.
hmm, mirroring the device to my t.v. mite be useful but screen-casting entails having to tap on the fones screen to select which display to cast to (sorta' like accepting a blutooth connection).
ironically, i have sshdroid installed on my fone but it requires me to unlock the fone and tap on the icon to start it.
You have it rooted? There is always ADB. You can mount that phone with mtp. Problem is that after android 6? is it. You have to confirm on the phone when the desktop tries to mount it.
Have you tried with a USB cable?
Does it not show up as an mtp device in your filemanager?
normally when I plug a cellular smart-telefone to my p.c., i must swipe down on the status bar on the fone and accept one of the various options (charge this device, supply power to the other device, mount as mtp, mount as ptp, use as midi).
