Question tv recording

> I have a MSI TV@NYWHERE PLUS tv tuner card. My question is,is there a tv program that I can use to record my shows? It works on Windows but I want to stay away from Window,if possible.

i use Kaffeine, the KDE mediaplayer. it works admirably well as a dvb-t tv, and offers some nice options like instant recording, scheduled recording, etc.

check it out, it's really rather good.

you might also want to check out "maxemum tv guide" (that's not a typo, the author spells it funny). it's an absolutely outstanding tv-guide application, works with xmltv, easily the best tv-guide i've ever used.

Angry tv recording

I downloaded kaffeine but there's no tv. Just for cd & dvd. I do have tvtime but it doesn't record shows. And maxemumm doesn't work either. I installed it but when I go to find it I get a 'not installed'.

I am using the composite part of my tv tuner card because the cable guy broke the cable input. The composite works good(I have the cable box fed thru my vcr to the composite input on the tv tuner card).but I can't get tvtime to record.I don't know if it is suppose to.Is there something I'm missing?

aaah, now i see, i thought you were using the cable port.

unfortunately, tvtime does not offer any recording functionality. you really want to look at something like mythtv or freevo to enable recording (scheduled and live, etc).
