I have been using the Brother website for drivers and instl'n info for a number of ubuntu based systems for some time now for my DCP-7030. They do list your printer as noted by the previous poster. Although I haven't looked at the finer points, I think you will probably need to install both their lpr and cups drivers to successfully use their printer. Also there's a chance you might first need to make a (possibly) missing directory --- something ending in "model" for a successful install. Not sure if that will be required for your particular printer. Also if your printer can be used as a scanner, their scanner driver works well too, if you follow their directions. I use my 7030 as a scanner as well with the Simple Scan program in Mint 12. The Brother site is very helpful, although sometimes a little difficult to navigate and find, what you need in my experience. Thanks to Brother for being linux friendly however!
