No sound after reinstall

Greetings to all,

My name is Axel, and I have been using Linux Mint for about a year now.

I recently reinstalled it, and now I have no sound at all. It was suggested to me to install the Pulse Audio volume control, which I did. In it, in the configuration tab, all three profiles read "unplugged / unavailable".

I would appreciate any feedback.

Cordially,

Axel

Axel, go into Software Manager and type PulseAudio in the search box, then, if not already check-marked as installed, checkmark/install the following files:

Gir1-2-cvc-1.0
Gstreamer1.0-pulseaudio
Pulseaudio-utils
Pulseaudio

...then report back. ;-)

Good evening FenderGuy,

Nice to meet you. Thanks for your answer.

The four files you mention appear check-marked as installed.

Cordially,

Axel

Hmmm... Did you check the obvious, e.g., make sure the speakers were plugged in and the volume knobs on the speakers/were turned up - and not muted??

Hello there,

Yes, I have checked for that.

As I mentioned, in the PulseAudio configuration tab, all profiles appear as "unplugged / unavailable", which I guess is related to this problem?

Well, Axel, I guess we'll have to wait and see what our tech guru's have to say.
