"net usershare info" problem opening nemo from laucher

Opening a network drive in nemo using a launcher with the command

Code:
nemo /home/user/mynetworkdrive
causes not only nemo to start but also a terminal window to pop up with the message: "Nemo-Share-Message: 01:59:55.120: Called "net usershare info" but it failed: 'net usershare' returned error 255: net usershare: cannot open usershare directory /var/lib/samba/usershares. Error No such file or directory"

I have never installed Samba (would prefer not to). I tried the following

Code:
sudo mkdir -p /var/lib/samba/usershares/
followed by

Code:
sudo chmod go+rwx /var/lib/samba/usershares/
Now using the launcher to start Nemo, I still get a terminal window opened but it's blank.

I then tried removing all samba-related files:
Code:
sudo apt purge python3-samba samba-common samba-common-bin samba-dsdb-modules samba samba-vfs-modules smbclient
followed by a reboot.

Now using the launcher to start Nemo, a terminal window starts but then closes immediately.

OK, a momentary terminal window doesn't appear to be causing me a problem but it would be nice to get rid of it. Any suggestions? Thanks

By the way, I'm using Network File Sharing (NFS) to share directories and files on the network drive.
