Need help to update kernel in Linux Mint Debian Edition.

I am running LMDE on a 32-bit desktop PC and also on my 32-bit laptop. I would like to know how to update the Kernel to the latest stable version if possible. On LM17 "Qiana" it's available to update through the Synaptic Package Manager, which I have already done on my dual boot LM17. Unfortunately this is not the case with LMDE.

I am still on a learning curve with the CLI but don't know the correct process or commands to do this update in the Terminal window. Any help that someone out there can give would be greatly appreciated. I have made several searches on-line but haven't found the answer yet. Nevertheless I am continuing to search anyway.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

HH

Re: Need help to update kernel in Linux Mint Debian Edition.

Please disregard my previous enquiry about the need help to update kernel in Linux Mint Debian Edition. I have since found out that there is no newer kernel package for LMDE than the one installed by the 201403 installer.

Many thanks

Regards

HH
