Mouse issues mint 17.2 serious

I have have had the issue of track pad not working at all, it will detect movements but not even close to accurate. any mouse I plug in will work with movements, and will jump a few pixels every so often. and when clicking on things, it works 50 percent of the time, but what it works with, and doesn't will always be the same. So in menus it works for some part's wail not others.

NOTE: mouse works perfectly on Ubuntu 14.04 lts, not configuration of the mouse or kernel needed. if there's no better way to fix it, I'd like to know how to install (NOT BUILD) kernels until It works, most likely to the same version the Ubuntu uses.

The sensitovity of track pads (Those square things on the laptop which act as a mouse pad), and type of mouse format are all adjustable. Open your wm & tweak. My pad 'clicked' on a mouse button any time I touched it until I did.
