Mint and ProtonVPN

I'm running Linux Mint v19.2, and I'm wondering if it could be made more secure by running it under a VPN such as ProtonVPN? (The Proton people say that they have a VPN that works with Debian, and I've asked them about Mint. But, so far, I haven't received an answer back.)

Try:
Code:
apt search protonvpn

protonvpn-cli/unstable 2.2.4-2 all
command-line client for ProtonVPN
Should work fine (like their email for me) but if not you'd only need pay for one month, if that?

Edit\add: Mint is Debian, with middle-people plus ignore* the "unstable" bit... lol.

They have a free version I'm trying now: https://protonvpn.com/pricing

I use ProtonVPN plus, works just fine with OpenVPN plugin, can even use the "Secure Core" feature (reason for upgrading to plus) that routes through multiple servers via the normal OpenVPN. I've used it without issue on Debian, KDE Neon, Void, and Endeavour OS. WHile it's nice that they do make a linux client available, I see no point in actually using it beyond being able to login with your "normal" ID + password instead of having to use your IKEv2 username/password when connecting.

The key is with free you must select from the bottom or the list: "free" after telling it your country also (obviously) select the lowest load%... I now have a little lock icon in the bottom corner of my WiFi's icon.

So firing up TOR-browser is twice as fuzzy now.

Seems trying to connect with P2P (e.g.: Sweden) or any-others not listed free won't do unle$$.
