I have a athlon six core procesor and linux mint says it's a intel processor the update downloaded a new kernal


How do I correct this problem as it is causung problems. The program is slowing down my computer and causing monitor problems.

I don't run Mint but if a /etc/apt/preferences folder is present. You can pin it from installing.

Are you sure that the power outage did not cause this? Are you dual booting with windows? Are you using UCT or localtime?

No dual booting I've been using linux for over 20 years.
