It was accessing the Opera folder that I had trouble with in the past. ctr h is the trick. Thanks again!

It is not necessary to run 'apt-get purge <pkgname>' after running 'apt-get --purge remove [pkgname]'......both commands do the same thing..namely remove the package and the configuration files.
It should also not be necessary to run 'apt-get clean'; all it does is remove all downloaded compressed package files from /var/cache/apt/archives/. It has no effect on installed packages.
