I have been trying to get my Canon Pixma MX340 working with my Gloria laptop. I've tried different driver setting, generic text only gives me a user error, and the other canon drivers says it's printing but nothing happens, thank you.
You have some choices to make. You can install a virtual machine, install something like XP, and print with the printer in windoze.
Next choice is to buy a printer known to work with linux. This site -->http://www.openprinting.org/ has lots of good information on printers known to work with linux. HP printers and Epsom are your best bets.
