Question Enabling HDMI Output Automatically

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Is there a setting that I need to modify in order for the HDMI output to be automatically enabled when I plug in the cable to my TV? My old Windows laptop would do it automatically and port the video to the big TV (and it would keep my laptop resolution the same while also accommodating the big screen resolution correctly).

What I have to do now is turn off the laptop completely, plug in the HDMI cable, and then start the computer. The laptop resolution goes so small as to be almost unreadable and so I have to drag everything over to the big TV.

Your guidance would be most appreciated! Thanks.

Mike

Ok. I had a momentary lapse in brain activity. I was able to get the resolution issue resolved. I just didn't see the setting the first time around. However, the original problem still exists in that when I plug in the HDMI cable to the TV with the laptop on, it doesn't do anything until I shut down the computer and start over.
