openbox on slack13.37 (x86) -- Thanks to linuxquestions.org, slackbuilds.org & many

It took me many painful hours to configure openbox and still it is
half-done (due to my inexperience on box wms). I came to know about
openbox from linuxquestions.org when they declared the list of user's choice. My slack with 512mb was getting very slow for kde so I've had
to change to it and while doing so I have learned a valuable lessons such as, I have come to know how window managers are configured when I've had to install all the necessary components like obmenu, obconf, feh, volumeicon, pastellite, tint2, urxvt, conky etc. I think KDE also come with many other similar components (its panel is called kicker) but we don't bother as these are well packaged inside KDE.

I also like to thank those who helped me in this forum but, I will definitely knock here whenever I get problem regarding openbox.

Hello vectrum,

wouldn't you want to share your expriences in a Howto at the new SlackDocs? http://docs.slackware.com/howtos:window_managers:start

It would be nice if you contribute.

Hi Markush,

Sure, I can share my experience. I didn't because most of the conf
I got from w3 and these are so common that I thought other are
quite familiar with the know-how. I will post the conf files and
the steps I did in order to configure and make it running.

Thank you

Hi. I've been using Openbox with Tint2 panel and would like to know how can I increase the height for tint2? The default size is sorta small for my old eyes. In other words, how to increase its size.

Thnx.

Hello,

I apologize for the delay as I can't access internet. Plz let me have a few days and I will post the tint2 conf files asap. You can easily adjust the tint panel height by supplying coordinates. I can't remember the details right now so please ... .

Regards,

Hello,

I hope you have found the solution. I apologies for the delay. I've put here the links and I hope these could be of your help(if you haven't yet visited the two sites).
Good luck
