Have you used "iwconfig" to configure the interface?
Code:
# ifconfig wlan0 essid <ESSID of network> [key <Hex/ASCII WEP key>]

Yeah - if you're doing it from the command-line, it's a two-part process:
Quote:
1. Use "iwconfig" to configure the interface.
2. Use "dhclient" or "dhcpcd" to gather an IP.
The only time you could just skip to getting an IP via DHCP, is if the original attempt failed and you have your wireless interface information detailed in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf.
