Question Wireless FN key not working on Gateway Laptop

Hi,

I have a new Gateway laptop. I've tried several Linux distros (Ubuntu as well as DSL and Knoppix). My problem is that when I boot into Linux, the "Radio" indicator on my keyboard does not light up. Normally in Windows I can press FN + F2 to enable\disable the internal wireless card. In Linux however, pressing those keys doesn't seem to make anything happen (i.e. the light doesn't come on, thus my wireless is disabled). Plugging a physical connection into my internal ethernet card works fine, but sometimes I need the wireless connection.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks! - Keith aka DigitalSin

Have you loaded drivers for your wireless card? Generally, without a utility like 'hotkeys', getting FN keys to work is a bit of a struggle, because they usually hand off to a windows driver on laptops. (Though, I admit, my brightness keys on my laptop work in linux, but not volume/wireless)
