wireless channel list different from router's list

Hi, first of all I should say that my wireless card is working fine without a problem, that's why I felt a little surprised when I ran iwconfig to see that the frequency which is set is different from the frequency that I'm broadcasting with my router!. According to my router the list of channels and frequencies is:

Channel i ------ freq 2.412 + 0.005 * i

When I run iwlist this is what I get

Code:

[root@PotuZ root]# iwlist eth0 channel
eth0 14 channels in total; available frequencies :
          Channel 01 : 2.412 GHz
          Channel 02 : 2.417 GHz
          Channel 03 : 2.422 GHz
          Channel 04 : 2.427 GHz
          Channel 05 : 2.432 GHz
          Channel 06 : 2.437 GHz
          Channel 07 : 2.442 GHz
          Channel 08 : 2.447 GHz
          Channel 09 : 2.452 GHz
          Channel 10 : 2.457 GHz
          Channel 11 : 2.462 GHz
          Current Frequency:2.437GHz (channel 06)
You see there's a 0.005 difference with my router's list... the channel that my router is broadcasting is channel 6, but it says that the frequency is 2.442 Ghz.... I wander if this is just a typo in the router's list.... Of course if I want to run iwconfig to change the freq I get the usual error message

Code:
[root@PotuZ root]# iwconfig eth0 channel 7
Error for wireless request "Set Frequency" (8B04) :
SET failed on device eth0 ; Operation not supported.
Just in case, my environment is:
box: Linux Fedora Core 2 2.6.6-1
router: Linksys Wireless B Breadband Router - BEFW11S4
wireless card: Linksys wireless WCF11 (If I remember correctly

Thanks,

R.

Yeah, 2.437 GHz is Channel 6, I think the router list is doinked up, but its working fine. Also, the error comes from you not being able to set a channel while in managed mode, that's actually part of the spec.

Cheers,

Finegan
