Well, here's the second question of the day. I'm using the netbook version of Ubuntu on a Samsung NC10. It's a new installation. This problem addresses window size on the screen. Most of the windows open fine. However, several open too tall to be viewed correctly. For example, when I go to the preferences window of VLC Media player, I cannot see the bottom portion of the window. Therefore, when I make a change, I can't use the accept, or cancel buttons. The main window is fine, as is the video display. Just the preferences window. I have also found this problem with a couple of the Ubuntu windows. As a work around, I've had to install Ubuntu on my laptop, and then count keystrokes with the tab key to get to the buttons I can't see on the netbook. SO, finally to the question. Is there a way to force all windows to open in the netbook size? This would be 600 pixels high, by the way. As before, thanks very much.

Not yet.
Try holding down the ALT key whilst L-click on the window you wish to move, and drag it so you can see the buttons you wish to click on.
Thanks Marlin for asking the question and thanks to Tredegar for answering; I was having the same problem and never would have found the solution myself.
