Question who is the best laptop for linux os RHEL5 & RHEL 6


Hi,

plz tell us who is laptop best support for linux os support rhel5 and rhel6 in budget of $600.

plz tell us who is the best laptop in both models:

1.DELL VOSTRO 1088

2..COMPAQ – 420




Actually i would like to purchase a laptop and want to use linux os rhel5 or rhel6.

rhel is not meant to run on laptops. support for acpi, wireless and such like is not a priority for redhat EL, as enterprise grade server farms tend not to hibernate all that much... run a user orientated distro on a laptop (ubuntu, fedora...), not a server one. If you want RHEL on a laptop, use a VM.

RHEL of any version is a bad choice for a laptop unless, of course, you are willing to pay for RHEL updates and support.
If you want to learn about Redhat then go for CentOS - it is free and only other difference is the logo.
If you are starting out in linux and want install it on a new laptop then ubuntu or mint will work the best on new hardware and most things will work straight away after install.

I am currently running a RHEL6 clone on a Dell Inspiron 6400. I am satisfied by the level of support this distribution provides for my machine.
