Very sensitive touchpad on Lenovo ThinkPad T400 using Ubuntu 14.04

I'm having a problem on my refurb'd T400 w/a very sensitive touch pad. I even found an answer at Lenovo's community website. However, it's geared toward Windows. I've set up a dual-boot with Windows and Ubuntu 14.04 on this laptop. I'll probably be in Ubuntu most of the time. Anyone know any way of addressing the touchpad in Ubuntu?

Under your mouse\systems settings or try searching "touch pad" or synaptic in the package-manager for installing extended settings...

not for ubuntu, but arch wiki entries have been very helpful even for users of other ditros:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Synaptics_Touchpad
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php...s.conf_example
just keep in mind that you might have to look for files in slightly different paths, files might be named slightly differently...
