USB dongle network configuration

I'm posting from my netbook running Crunchbang. My USB internet dongle works out of the box here.

Bus 002 Device 002: ID 12d1:1001 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. E620 USB Modem

I've got slackware on the netbook as well and I'd like to switch to it. I'm going to try to set the USB modem up on slackware later on.

Are there any settings that I should make a note of on crunchbang that would help me set the dongle up on slackware? loaded modules? Any config files?

In Crunchbang run "lspci -v" and find out what kernel module is in use. Then load the same module in Slack. As for setting the network up itself, it depends on what type of network connection is required.
