upgraded from fc11 to fc12 entering password under kde gets msg. kstartup4 does not e

message is kstartup config4 does not exist or fails. the error is 127 check your installation. netbook is acer aspire one D250. the user logon is fine under gnome, but if kde is selected for the user log in the above message comes up. system was fine under fc11, but update has broken it, I am beginning to think I should never update a system just do a new install, but I got lazy and didn't want to copy the old files off.

The update media is the dvd from negus fedora 2010 book.

Thanks in advance.

New info, I installed from scratch, kde is fine and a new install is much faster than an upgrade, the people that suggest a new install instead of an upgrade are right, don't waste you time with the upgrade.

John
