Unable to access the bios of a netbook


I have an asus netbook and i want to install kubuntu as a second partition. the problem is im trying to boot my netbook from my flash drive.i cant acess the bios. i already tried esc, f2, f10, f8 and nothing.

whenever i press f10, i get a message:

partition: 3
hard drive: (some number)
/noexecute=optin

dats all i get.

could someone please tell what should i do?

Look in the manual. For my Asus netbook you have to keep tapping F2 on boot. So, as soon as you power it on just keep tapping at high speed the F2 key. You have to do this because many have a boot booster and the time window in which it detects the key press is small, and it won't work if you hold it either (unlike most computers).

Thanks i did it and it works. now im able to used ubuntu
