touch pad problem, help me please


Hey all
my touch pad has gone crazy, my pointer keeps jumping all around, clicking on things. it is unusable at this point. I am at a total loss of what to do! help!

Sorry BTW it is a Dell inspiron 1525...

I can't offer a solution but I can at least point you in the right direction. I had a laptop in the past that did this. I eventually solved it by adjusting the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file; there are mouse settings in there. Your best bet is to search around for someone with that exact laptop model and if you come up empty handed, just search for other touchpad configurations using the xorg.conf file such as various drivers to try and the definition of the touchpad layout. I hope that helps a little.

I have discovered that the problem is related to when i plug in my usb wireless mouse. After removing the wireless mouse my touchpad goes all crazy...
