I can't offer a solution but I can at least point you in the right direction. I had a laptop in the past that did this. I eventually solved it by adjusting the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file; there are mouse settings in there. Your best bet is to search around for someone with that exact laptop model and if you come up empty handed, just search for other touchpad configurations using the xorg.conf file such as various drivers to try and the definition of the touchpad layout.
